ChinaEU at the 10th Digital Regulation Forum in London

ChinaEU will take part in the 10th edition of the Digital Regulation Forum, an event jointly promoted by Broadband4Europe and Barclays Bank, on 20-21 April 2016 at One Whitehall Place, London.

Entitled “Policies for the Digital Single Market: an Evolution or a Revolution?”, the two-day event will gather some of the most influential stakeholders in the digital economy, including high-level representatives from European Institutions, European national regulatory agencies, financial investors, industrial associations and key representatives from the industry. Among them, Alibaba, ZTE, AT&T, BT, Facebook, Google, Orange, Deutsche Telekom, KPN, Qualcomm, TDC, Avenue51, TeliaSonera, TIM, Turk Telekom, Verizon, Vodafone and Telefonica.

The conference will address several key topics, such as the EU regulatory framework review, the emergence of online platforms, mergers & acquisition scenarios in the telecom industry, spectrum policy, net neutrality, 5G development and the future of cross-border online trade.

At the Forum, ChinaEU will host two panels, namely on “5G Cooperation between EU and China” and “A new Silk Road for E-Commerce”, looking at the evolving relationship in these two strategic areas of the digital economy.

  • Do China and Europe need each other in the the global race to 5G?
  • How will the partnership benefit businesses and consumers on both sides?
  • Shall we expect EU-China joint smart city projects?
  • How big is the size of e-commerce in China and in Europe?
  • What are the main obstacles to the future of online trade and online content purchases between Europe and China?
  • What are the priorities of the respective e-commerce regulations?
  • How can European SMEs benefit from new e-commerce opportunities with China?
